Literature Text

He awoke lying on the ground. His arm was bandaged tightly, and his head pounded. He sat up slowly clutching his forehead. His muscles  were really stiff and his arm seared in pain. He held it gingerly, as to not mess up the bandaging.
Wing looked around. He was in a small solitary confinement cell that was all concrete with a reinforced metal door and a light bulb. The room even offered a toilet.
Wing lied back down to think about what had happened. These had basically upgraded a couple of his organs. Wing didn't understand how, but these larger lungs and new digital heart valve really worked; he felt the difference. What about this was advantageous to the Hunters? It seemed almost more beneficial to him.

Guess I'm lucky it worked though.

The first tests he was put through made sense to him. See how the modifications to his body aided his time in the test. He had done the test before last time he was there.
However those creatures that he fought haunted his mind. What were they? Who were they? Were they dragons? Were they humans? Why? Either way, those eyes he would never get out of his mind. Whatever it was, it was a truly tortured creature. He shivered and tried not to think about them anymore.
Leo. Why would they make them fight against each other? Was it supposed to be an execution? Wing's sword versus Leo's pistol would indicate so, but the Hunters knew very well Wing had beaten them at that game multiple times. So why another hybrid? Was it to see how they would fight amongst themselves? Who was he? How did he know exactly where to shoot to kill the heart rate monitor? He had spared Wing, but how many others did he not?
And Rhae, how was he doing? Was he going to be considered too weak? Was someone helping to feed him?

Evelyn! Oh fuck! What happened to her?

He lay there for another hour at least, these questions cycling through his mind. He only got more stressed and worried. Soon a banging on the door echoed through the room. Wing jumped up to his feet, his robes trailing behind him. Three men walked in. Two armed guards and the third with hand cuffs. Wing instinctively backed to the wall. He knew he couldn't go anywhere. Though there was no conflict, he accepted his defeat, and held up his hands in front of him.  The Mexican man approached him and locked the cuffs on him. The man grabbed the chain between the cuffs and dragged Wing out of the room. Wing stumbled to his feet.

They walked through the hallways silently, the guard behind Wing occasionally prodding him with a baton, snorting whenever Wing jumped. Wing grunted and pressed on. He didn't know where they were taking him, and likely, he didn't want to know.
They passed a couple other dragons as they walked. They exchanged mournful looks at each other. They neared the end of a corridor, before the guards almost literally tossed Wing into a large empty room lined with carpet and other sound proofing panels. As Wing regained his balance on his feet, they slammed the metal door behind him. Wing saw a larger door at the other end of the room, sitting ominously closed, as if it was about to throw something at him.
However, when it did open. It didn't send anything at him that would tear his flesh, nothing that would cut him open, but something that would shred him to pieces.

"Dad?!"
"When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when
But we'll get together then
You know we'll have a good time then"

oops. short chapter. but i've been sick this week, and it really is just a prelude to the next chapter.

update: fixed a few minor things. still don't like how short this is, but I don't want to just put shitty filler in. i'll fix it later
